Yummy!

Isabel started eating solids officially today! She has tasted things here and there (Mike is always giving her a bite of everything - soups, ice cream, chocolate - as you can see things that she could be highly allergic to, but it's better not to argue with him, you know him!).
We weren't sure if she was ready for solids or not, but this last week we were at Grandma's and she had made some delicious pea soup. I gave Isabel a little taste and she loved it! She was really impatient in between bites, and she definitely let us know she is ready for some real food!
So today I cooked some yams (that Grandma gave us also) for her. Again she was a very good eater; no ugly faces or anything, she was even patient this time. I'm excited to make lots of yummy baby food for her!

By the way, I don't have my Christmas pictures yet, but soon I'll be posting them!

Isabel being cute

Here's a video we made of Isabel sucking on her clothes. She's really cute in this one.

Isabel and Sean

Today I was rumaging around in my closet and found the cable that goes from the camcorder to the computer. So, I transfered all the film that we've done in the last few months of Isabel and will be posting a few segments over the next little while. This first one is a video of Isabel and Sean. If any of you have met our friends Mike and Lori this is their kid. Enjoy!

Super Isabel

I can't believe how fast they grow! Isabel is already 4 and a half months. She is already rolling, laughing (sparingly though), and almost sitting up by herself. She loves to sit and play with her toys. Another great trick are her fake coughs. She looks at us and does these little fake coughs to get our attention, it's hilarious!
Things are going great here. We are excited for Christmas. Mike is very excited to get his presents, he is just like a kid!
We loved spending Thanksgiving with some of you guys. It was too bad not everyone could be here, but we enjoyed spending time with the ones that were.

Dia das Bruxas

Here are some pictures of our cute pea pod. We had a fun Halloween, a bit cold for her taste (we were outside for a while during our ward party, and she was freezing when we got home), but it was fun.
In the first picture, Isabel is being held by my friend Karena who came especially to see her in her costume. Then we have some pictures of Aunt Mari really bugging her :), and finally Isabel getting some beauty sleep before the ward Halloween party.

For no better reason...

Well, it's been a while, hasn't it?! This last month has been a busy one. I've spent a lot of time helping my mom pick stuff out for their new home (they bought a townhome in Drapper), and also doing projects around our place. We have changed light fixtures in the kitchen, painted the office, redecorated some stuff... anyways, lots of fun for me (some of you don't know that my hobby is planning room decor... I just don't have the money to get all the things I design)!
Anyway, Isabel is getting cuter by the minute! She loves to play with her toys now and make little sounds, she also smiles real big now. She is a very good baby. She is sleeping 10 - 11 hours at night, and taking little short naps during the day.
I was watching Mike playing with her this morning and I thought how fun it will be to take her to the beach in Brazil some months from now. I then ran to her room to look for her little cousin's swim suit Emily put in one of the clothes boxes she lent me. For no better reason than to see her in a swim suit I dressed her up. She looked sooo cute! You can check out some more pictures at www.flickr.com/photos/upoopoo.
Speaking of pictures, we are really excited to see Denise and Kristin (and families, obviously) this next week. I hope we get lots of pictures of all the immensely cute babies we have in this family!

Little Hands

Isabel discovered she has hands! She spends most of the day sucking on them or playing with them. When she is sleepy she rubs her eyes and nose, it's so cute!
We had a little photo session today. My grandma wants pictures of Isabel, so I dressed her in the outfits my grandma made and took lots of pictures. You can see them on flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/upoopoo). My grandmas don't have a computer so I'll be sending pictures in the mail. It's so weird, I feel like I don't even know how to do that anymore: printing pictures, putting them in an envelope, writing the address, going to the post office... I love digital cameras and the internet! (sorry the video is in Portuguese)

We made it!!!

I can't believe how fast our little one is growing... she is two months old today! She is now 22.5 inches tall and weighs 10 pounds 3 ounces, 75% for her height (let's hope she keeps it up!) and 50% for her weight. The doctor said she looks great, and we are doing great job. He said we are ready for a second child (yeah, right!). She also got her shots today, which she didn't enjoy very much, but she got over it quickly enough.
Mike and I are also doing good. We are more used to being parents now, and are truly enjoying watching Isabel grow.
Oh, before I forget... thanks to those who already sent me their family picture, I really appreciate it. Now those who haven't yet, I'll give you a couple more weeks, but after that, you already know what's going to happen!

Coughs and Giggles

This last week has been a little difficult for us. Both Mike and I were sick, and now it seems like Isabel finally got sick too. She did fight it for a long time (considering I've been sick for over 2 weeks now), but she is getting a cold too. We had her first official doctor's visit today (not including well-baby visits).
Besides all that, it's been great living with her! She loves to smile now. Mike can't get enough of her smiles. He's very excited because he's been noticing that she recognizes him, and looks at him just like she looks at me. We've been trying to get smiling pictures, but this is the best we've got so far. It seems like she stops smiling every time we get the camera... typical, huh?!

Saturday morning

Nothing like Saturday morning... the sun shinning outside, the house clean, sleeping in.... NOT! Well, I did get to go back to bed after feeding her at 6 o'clock, and when I woke up, this is what I saw. Adorable, huh?! Mike being the wonderful dad he is took over the burping after I fed her (I was exhausted and could really use some more sleep). He loves her so much, and is so good with her. Last night during her last feeding of the day (somehow it feels like I am always feeding her... oh, I guess because I am! - that is something no amount of reading and babysitting can prepare you for, but I do enjoy it) he asked if he could put her to sleep, because he needed some Isabel time. They are too cute together. I love having that feeling that we have a real family now!

Pictures

When Isabel was born, I think Mike sent everyone a link to where you could see her pictures. I just wanted to let you guys know that we are adding pictures to that site all the time (I just can't help taking pictures when she does all the cute things she does - lots of sleeping pics though, she is just adorable when she sleeps!). Well, here is the link in case you need it again: www.flickr.com/photos/upoopoo
The picture on the side is a little sneak-peek of what Mike did to Isabel when she was sleeping like a rock (she is a great sleeper by the way) and he was bored. It's too cute though, and even I thought it was worth bugging her a little. Oh, the bear was given to her by my dad the first day he saw her. He had just flown in from Colombia with a connection in Atlanta, hence the Georgia bear.

Keeping in touch with the family

It looks like the Wilson family has chosen blogging as its new way of keeping in touch and up to date with each others' lives. It seems logical then that I create my own blog to also show what is going on in our little family. I've never been much of a blogger, but since I am home full-time now, I might be better at it; we'll see...
